Message from my boss

Xin chao cac ban,

Thanks for your hospitality last night.
Hereunder is the summary of my message yesterday for your reference.

I've received the new assignment effective on July 1st, 2009.
I will work at Osaka Sales Branch of Ajinomoto Japan.

When I heard of my new assignment, I was so surprised because,
In my last 14 years working for overseas business,
Including 7 years in the Philippines, and 4 years here in Vietnam,
My last experience working as sales in Japan is 20 years ago.

And I felt sad because I have to say goodbye to all of you in June.

However, now I'm gettting happier, because I heard that
My successor, Mr. Teramoto is a nice guy,
Who has experience working in Indonesia, and
Very good both in sales & marketing.

My motto is GEMBA-SHUGI in Japanese, Hand-on policy in English,
Although this is my first time to talk about GEMBA-SHUGI.
It means GEMBA is the most important place to work in my thinking.

GEMBA means the actual working place in Japanese.
In sales, GEMBA is the place wherever we talk with our customers and consumers,
Such as wet market, supermarket, and restaurant.
In production, GEMBA is the factory, where our products are produced, and
In marketing, GEMBA is the point-of-watching TV, point-of-purchasing and cooking at home.

We sometimes discuss our plan & strategy in the meeting room,
However, key success factors of the plan & strategy are always in GEMBA, I believe.

We're aiming to be the No.1 Sales in Vietnam, with the strong No.1 brands in Vietnam.
We're on the way to achieve our goal.
I strongly believe YOU can achieve the goal soonest, and
I also believe YOU have enough confidence to achieve.

As I send you last week by e-mail,
In-order-to achieve our goal,
I'm willing to do my best to transfer my knowledge, skill, and power to all of you,
Until the last moment before I leave.

I would really appreciate all of you working with me as a team,
And I would say thank you very much from my heart.

My last, but not the least message is
Please do not forget that YOUR FAMILY is always the 1st priority,
Working is the 2nd priority.

I'm leaving from Vietnam on June 30th,
I hope to see you in GEMBA in the future.

Xin cam on tac ca cac ban!

Thanks & best regards,
Yamauchi
